Indy the Dog
Indy the Dog is the real canine star of the 2025 American supernatural horror film "Good Boy." He is a medium-sized, intelligent, and energetic Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever who plays the lead role in a supernatural thriller told almost entirely from a dog’s point of view. Indy belongs to director and co-writer Ben Leonberg, who cast his own dog in the leading role. Principal photography took place over several years with a small crew, allowing for a calm environment and an authentic, animal-centered performance. Indy received a nomination for “Best Performance in a Horror or Thriller” at the 2025 Astra Film Awards. Additionally, he was honored with the “Howl of Fame” Award at the 2025 South by Southwest Film & TV Festival, marking a rare and notable recognition for a canine performance.
