Mohsen Asdaghpour is an Iranian filmmaker based in Tehran. Originally trained as a mechanical engineer, he shifted his focus to filmmaking in 2015, working first in photography and cinematography before moving into directing and producing. His debut short film, Where It Begins, has been featured at prominent international film festivals, including the Moscow International Film Festival, the Fantasia International Film Festival, and the Hawai'i International Film Festival, winning Best International Short Film at the Black Bear Film Festival and earning several nominations, including Best Original Soundtrack. Mohsen is drawn to exploring existential themes through fantastical storytelling, seeking to create imaginative worlds that reflect profound human dilemmas.
