Tamao Nakamura was a Japanese actress who began her film career in the 1950s after being discovered while still a junior high school student. She became known for films including Conflagration (1958), Bonchi (1960), Satan’s Sword (1960), and The Human Condition III: A Soldier’s Prayer (1961). She also appeared in Bamboo Doll of Echizen (1963) and provided a voice role in My Neighbors the Yamadas (1999). She was the daughter of kabuki actor Nakamura Ganjirō II and was married to actor Shintarō Katsu. Nakamura died in Kyoto on June 9, 2026, at the age of 86.
